The 50STAR FIRE SHOW is taking place on the glorious Hudson River waterfront in Jersey City. The best thing about this is at this place is a breeze to get around!

Go green! Bike, walk or take public transportation to the festivities. No parking is available on the Festival grounds. Public parking in Jersey City is limited and subject to availability. Vehicular traffic is restricted to only residents with valid identification in any areas past the police checkpoints. See the map below to plan your visit.

By Light Rail

Service to Exchange Place via NJ TRANSIT’s Hudson-Bergen Light Rail (HBLR) will be available until 12 PM. After noon, Light Rail service will terminate at the Harborside stop from the north, and Essex St from the south. Check out the map to see how to walk to the Festival grounds. Note that HBLR service capacity will be extremely limited due to the high traffic and you may experience major delays. It is estimated that there will be up to 150,000 revelers, and the Light Rail can transport up to 3,000 customers per hour. That’s a lot of folks, so plan accordingly and give yourself a lot of travel time!

Smart tip: Buy round-trip tickets from ticket vending machines before traveling to the #50STAR Fire Show.


PATH service will be running from Exchange Place, Newport, and Grove Street, which are all within a 5 to 10 minute walk. The PATH will be following a holiday schedule.

By Ferry

The NY Waterway will run on a weekend schedule to Harborside, 210 Hudson Street, from morning till 4:30 PM. CLICK HERE FOR THE LATEST 4TH OF JULY SCHEDULE.

By Bike or Foot

Exchange Place is probably best reached by foot or bicycle. Bike JC will offer a free bike check service at the Festival, at the foot of Christopher Columbus Drive near Hudson Street.

By Car

Please be advised that Uber/Lyft/taxi etc will have limited access points around the border of festival for pickup and drop-off. Customers will need to meet cars at these points, which currently are at Grand Street & Jersey Avenue and another at Newport Mall. Check the map for locations.

Parking in Paulus Hook will be restricted only to residents with valid ID. Commercial parking will be available throughout the city. Visitors are advised to use registered and licensed parking facilities. Check with lot operators for fees and hours of operation.
